Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, also referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.
Players can recycle six items at once to get a gauge of the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases with their rarity and item level.
Upgrade components
A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved in a variety of ways such as using upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level. Many items can also be reforged in order to increase their stats.
You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout all over the world and are rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. The most common method of upgrading gear is through the use of upgrade components, which are components that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots that can be upgraded and some require a certain amount of upgrade. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others give an overall bonus.

There are upgrade item of upgrade components in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be placed on any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than equipment-specific upgrades. Glyphs are only available on gathering tools. They offer a range of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing additional crafting materials.
Choose the item from your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen. It will display the expected stats following the upgrade. If you don't possess enough of either the upgrade button will say Blocked.
The upper-right corner displays the number of upgrade components required to create an item. The cost of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item increase. However, you can reduce this cost by purchasing upgrades from a vendor, or trading them with other players.
Most weapons can be upgraded by an upgrade to a prefix for example, an insignia, or a rune, and many can be upgraded with an upgrade suffix. These upgrades add an adjective to the item's name for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are an effective tool for communicating visual information. They animate in order to grab the viewer's eye and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language, making them more effective in conveying a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.
Each glyph has a range of values that it can improve a stat by, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This is not the actual amount at the glyph can increase a stat, but the maximum value by which it is able to do so. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the item you are admiring.
The majority of upgrade components that are added to items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been applied to your equipment, you can transfer it to another piece of equipment by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.
If you want to remove a glyph from a piece of you must salvage it with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. upgrade item where the glyph is installed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged using the glyph shards.
If you take an item off after adding a glyph, the shards from the glyph will vanish. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and then deal it out slowly instead of all at once. This is beneficial for players who take a lot damage from enemies but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens let players alter the affixes they use on their equipment and weapons, and can be found through a variety of methods such as in mistery boxes or as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Each reroll token gives the player a brand new random affix, which is usually superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the item upgrade menu, however they can still receive upgrades. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item's rarity and also its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than items with lower levels.
In addition to tokens for rerolls, players can make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will roll a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it scores higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be repeatedly rolled up to three times.
Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, but users should be aware that it can reduce the overall ilvl the weapon based on the number of rerolls required to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This is evident on Diadems and Rings, because they are the only options for raising ilvl.
The system of rerolls has been criticised by players for being too expensive, and it would be more equitable to let players pay for it using money or a food item that allows them to change their build without a lot of time and effort. The developers do not plan to offer paid rerolls in this point in the game's development. They are planning to add a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the near future.
Leveling
There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the value of upgrading the stat. The second option is to boost the effect of an upgrade, which can increase damage or healing for a stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. After this, the new item will maintain its iLevel, but will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.
When upgrading items, it is important to keep in mind that upgrades aren't always planned. Most of the time the chance of a better roll will result from glyphs, but there are also chances for greater or special rolls. In addition the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item and when you upgrade a unique or rare item to a unique type it has a chance to get a higher iLevel.
The cost of upgrading items can be expensive especially when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading a piece of equipment will depend on the base iLevel as well as the amount of upgrade levels. Some upgrade tracks also require crests to reach the next level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item will be at the highest level of its upgrade track and gain an additional benefit. This will give the item a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level however. In general, the upgrade effect is increased by a number of +3.
The iLevel can also change in accordance with the item's upgrade path and base level. For example an item that has been upgraded from being a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary one is likely to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
